Trigonometry
We will complete parts 1 and 2 of graphing sine and cosine functions in class. You may be given a homework assignment, depending on the weather.

SAT Prep
You will be working on number2.com this week, doing practice problems.

Chemistry
Quiz on Energy, wavelength and frequency Tuesday. Elements handbook activity, page 146 of your text, is due Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday, we will work on "Analysis of Spectral Lines" is class.  Your homework will be to complete the interpreting graphics worksheet.  Friday, we will work on a Chapter 5 review worksheet, which is due Monday.  Chapter 5 Exam next Tuesday.

Physics
Chapter 10 Homework is due Thursday.   Chapter 10 Take-home Exam is due Monday.  Presentations start Wednesday.

December 2

Trigonometry
Your Take home exam is due.  We will do a short review today and your in class exam will be tomorrow. Thursday, we will begin Chapter 4.  We will be doing some in-class activities Thursday and Friday.

SAT PrepThis week, we will work on the verbal tutorial on Study Island.

Chemistry
We will cover the electromagnetic spectrum this week.  The remainder of your outline is due Thursday.  Test next wee.

Physics
Your lesson plan for you research project and you sources are due today.  We will begin Chapter 10 today, and should finish it early next week.  You should be working on your Chapter 10 Homework.

Trigonometry
Work on your Chapter 5 Practice Exam.  Your take home portion of the exam will be due Tuesday.  Your in-class portion of the exam will be on Tuesday.

SAT Prep
We will be working on the Study Island tutorials for quite a while.  Make sure you answer the question that I gave you to answer for each part of the tutorial.

Chemistry
We will have a quiz on electron configurations on Tuesday.  You should have section 2 of your outline completed for Monday.

Physics
The teacher meeting for your research project is due today.  Also due today are your momentum lab and corrections to your energy lab.  Chapter 8 homework is due Monday.  Chapter 8 Exam on Tuesday.

November 11th

Trigonometry
Quiz Wednesday.  Work on Section 5.3/5.4 Homework Thursday an Friday

SAT Prep
Tuesday we will finish our webquest on the SAT website.  Wednesday, we will begin taking an SAT pretest, which will take the remainder of the week to complete.

Chemistry
Tuesday, we will review for you Chapter 4 Exam.  Chapter 4 Exam on Wednesday. Then we will begin Chapter 5.

Physics
Tuesday, we will do the momentum lab.  Wednesday you will be given time to work on your lesson plans. We will review on Thursday for your chapter 7 exam on Friday.

November 5th

I apologize for not updating lately.  I have been ill.

Trigonometry
We will be working on Section 5.2 homework in class on Wednesday.  Thursday, we will work on a  practice quiz.  Quiz on sections 1 and 2 on Friday.

SAT Prep
We will be working on career searches, determining possible college majors, and doing college searches this week.

Chemistry
Quiz on isotopes Wednesday.  Thursday we will work on average atomic mass.  You will have a worksheet to complete for homework. Friday we will do a lab on average atomic mass.  Section 4.3 of you outline will be due Monday.

Physics
Test scores for the Chapter 6 test were all over the place.  If you would like to re-test, you have until next Tuesday to do so.  Work and energy lab data is due Wednesday.  Work on your Chapter 7 Homework, and your lesson plans for you research project.

October 22nd

Trigonometry
All Chapter 3 Homework is due.  Work on your practice exam.  Chapter 3 Exam is on Friday.

SAT Prep
We will finish up the class by taking a full SAT practice Exam.  This will take several days.

Chemistry
Density lab is due today.  If you haven't turned in your sections 3 and 4 outline, then do so.  Chapter 3 Exam on Thursday.  You may have a note card for the exam.

Physics
Centripetal Force Lab is due Monday.  Project proposals are due Friday.  Work on your Chapter 6 Homework.

October 15th

To be honest, there is a lot going on this week, so most of these date will be tentative.  Students will be taking the PSAT exams on Wednesday, Honor Society practice takes place on Thursday, and the ASVAB exams are on Friday.

Trigonometry
Quiz on Thursday on the Trig functions of common angles in radians.  Section 3.4 Homework is due Monday.  Chapter 3 Exam on Wednesday next week.

Chemistry I
Dimensional Analysis Homework was due Tuesday.  The dimensional analysis Quick Lab is due Thursday.  We will work on density on Thursday.  Section 3.3 Outline is due Friday.

SAT Prep
We will finish up our practice essays and talk about financial aid and applying to colleges.

Physics
Wednesday is review day and your homework is due.  We will have a lab sometime this week when the weather cooperates.  Test is on Friday.  That is firm.

October 6th

Trigonometry

• We will be working on Study Island this week, doing the SAT Verbal section tutorial.

Chemistry I

• Monday we will work on metric and Temperature conversions. Section 3.2 Outline will be due Tuesday
• Tuesday we will do Interpreting Graphics 3.2 and start Dimensional Analysis. Work on Section 3 of your outline. 
• There will be a quiz on metric and temperature conversions on Wednesday.  If time permits, we will do the Dimensional Analysis Quick Lab.
• Thursday we will continue working on Dimensional Analysis. You will have a quiz on it on Friday.

Physics

Trigonometry
We had our Chapter 1 Test today. No Homework this weekend.  Section 2.1 Homework will be due Tuesday.

SAT Prep
We will continue working on the Study Island SAT math tutorial all next week.  You should be answering the essential question in your journal after you finish each portion of the tutorial.

Chemistry I
The Oobleck! Lab was due today.  We also finished the Classification of Matter inquiry activity in class.  Monday, we will get the remaining data for the separation of a mixture lab and will be doing a chromatography of ink lab.  An Interpreting Graphics assignment will be given for homework and is due Tuesday.  The separation of mixtures lab will be due Wednesday.

Physics
Lab 2: Motion lab report is due Monday.  The vector treasure hunt questions are also due Monday, and there is a vector addition quiz on Monday.  It sounds like a lot, but you have had a week to write the lab report and the questions shouldn't take you too long.

September 9th

Trigonometry
Section 1.4 Homework is due today. Section 1.5 Homework is due tomorrow.  We will be working on practice problems for your exam on Wednesday and Thursday. Chapter 1 Exam on Friday.

SAT Prep
Monday, we finished the last section of pre-tests.  We will be using a video tutorial on Study Island the remainder of the week, focusing on test taking strategies for the math portion of the exam.  You should answer the essential questions written on the board in your journal everyday before you leave class.

Chemistry I
Monday, Section 2.1 of your outline was due.  Section 2.2 of your outline will be due Wednesday.  The write-up for Oobleck lab that we did in class on Monday is due Friday. Make sure that you put thought into your answers. It is worth 50 points.  The procedure for separating a mixture lab is due Wednesday.

Physics
Chapters 1&2 Exam on Tuesday.  Work on your Chapter 3 Homework.  Lab 2: Motion lab report is due next Monday.

September 3rd

You should be able to finish most of 1.1 Homework, There will be some time given in class to finish the rest tomorrow. Section 1.2 Homework is tentatively due Friday.

SAT Prep
If you did not answer your question during the web-quest today, go on the college board website and find the answer. The address is sat.collegeboard.com

General Chemistry
Section 1.2 Outline is due tomorrow. If you did not finish your research assignment (finding a chemical reaction that occurs everyday), also finish that. There will be a small amount of time to complete the assignment in class tomorrow.

Physics
Basic Skills Quiz tomorrow. We will also work on you lab reports, which are due Tuesday.

Welcome Back!

Welcome to a new year at NSHS! I will be your teacher this year for AP Chemistry, Physics, Chemistry I, SAT Prep, and Trigonometry/Analytic Geometry. Homework due dates, as well as a summary of what is going on in class will be posted here. If you forget when your homework is due, this is the best place to look.

You will notice a lot of change this year. One of those changes is the location of my classroom. I can now be found in room 525.  That is the Home Economics Room.
